We think it has been quite under publicised that Bill Gates has now retired from Microsoft, after 33 years at the helm he has passed on the responsibility to Steve Ballmer. So what is Bill doing now you may well ask? He is concentrating full time on his charitable foundation – the largest of its kind in the world. With an endowment of some $34 billion, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation distributes over $1.5 billion a year with the aim of reducing extreme poverty and advancing healthcare and education. And what now for Microsoft? You will be pleased to hear they are working on yet another new version of Windows which is due for release in January 2010.
